Please note that Akbar Allahabadi wrote these lines almost hundred years ago when India was still ruled by Britishers and there was nothing like modern day media. What a revolutionary poet he was! The rules of this award require that I write 7 things about me and nominate 15 bloggers for this award. Therefore, following are 7 things about me: 1. Journalist by profession and started learning journalism from the age of 18. I am now now over 60. 2. Hardcore Secular, progressive and strongly believe that all human being are equal irrespective of their religion, caste, creed, race, gender or occupation. 3. I believe that there is a God but I don’t follow any particular religion. Don’t do any kind of formal worship yet I find my God always with me. I strongly oppose all kind and all versions of religious fundamentalism, revivalism and bigotry. 4. Studied Hindu Astrology from Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, New Delhi and won Gold and Silver medals, did research for few years just to know if Astrology has any substance and now I can say, yes it has substance though it is really tough for even good astrologers too to predict accurately because there is so much we still don’t know how Astrology works. 5. A shy guy who always kept himself at back-end, silently working and leading the team away from glam of Journalism. Kept safe distance from all kind of politicians and political parties in order to remain unbiased in my analysis of News and Current Events. 6. Love to teach, interact and mentor young talents. This provides immense opportunity to learn new ideas from them. 7. Love Hindi. And now my 15 nominations for Very Inspiring Blogger Award! I tried to pick blogs from Hindi and English both and there are quite a few blogs which may not be that good but I find their idea and passion quite inspiring. For example, a blog Jeevan Mag is run by a team of few very young bloggers and they write on all serious topics too. Also I picked up two bloggers who write for kids, Aunt Mary’s blog Easy Way | A blog for Children and I. B. Arora’s blog Poems and Stories for Chidren are really very inspiring initiatives. Jyoti’s Hindi blog Aapki Saheli is a good effort for creating awareness about Women Lib and Empowerment.
